Located to the south of Sarasota, Siesta Key Beach is one of the most famous beaches in Florida. It is an 8-mile stretch known for its sugar-white sand, which is made up of 99% quartz, and its family-friendly amenities, including restrooms, picnic areas, and a large playground plus dining, shopping, and nighttime entertainment. If you have older children, you can rent a boat or kayak at Blind Pass Lagoon. There are plenty of free places to park in the area, but it can fill up quickly during the busy season. Santa Rosa also gives several different access points to Point Washington Start Forest, a 15,000-acre nature preserve.
Delray Beach is the perfect spot for those who want the entertainment of a large city along with a friendly small-town atmosphere. You have the option of Delray's Municipal Beach, where you can find adventurous activities like snorkeling and paddleboarding, and Atlantic Dunes Park, where you can experience a quieter, more relaxing setting. You will also want to take the time to visit the Wakodahatchee Wetlands and Morikami Museum and Japanese gardens while you are here! After a day in the sun, head down to Atlantic Avenue for shopping, restaurants, and a vibrant nightlife scene.
